Dr. Macri received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Manhattan College and his Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology (Ph.D.) from Hofstra University. His educational merits include: Phi Beta Kappa, Psi Chi (the Psychology National Honor Society) President (’94-95), Magna Cum Laude from Manhattan College, and Master of Arts with Distinction from Hofstra University.
Dr. Macri has extensive training in School Psychology and has assessed students for intellectual giftedness and learning deficits. He is well-versed in psycho-educational evaluations, behavioral interventions, and collaborating with teachers, students and their parents. He holds a certificate as a certified school psychologist.
In the clinical capacity, Dr. Macri has worked in a variety of settings ranging from hospitals to academic settings. He has treated a continuum of behavioral and emotional disorders ranging from adjustment to life transition to psychopathology. In addition, he has taught a variety of courses and lectures to a populations ranging from undergraduate students to medical professionals.
More recently, Dr. Macri has applied his clinical training to his work with athletes to enhance their performance through mental skills training. He has lectured and provided consultation to high school and college athletes.
He maintains professional affiliations with the American Psychological Association (Division #42-Independent Practice; Division # 47-Sports and Exercise Psychology); New Jersey Psychological Association, (NJPA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). Dr. Macri is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York. Additionally, he is a Certified Consultant in Applied and Sport Psychology (CC-AASP). He maintains a private practice in Ridgewood, NJ.
